1/18/11 Gallery owner, Susan Bogan, to teach at Osher Life Learning Institute in Galveston. For an 8 week period beginning in February, Mrs. Bogan will teach "African Art" for OLLI in Galveston.
1/18/11 Gallery owner, Susan Bogan, to teach "Non-Western Art: Africa, MesoAmerica and Oceania" at University of Houston in the Spring of 2011. She will also teach "An Introduction to Humanities" online for Houston Community College that same semester.

01/07/2011 "Eye of the Storm," by John Van Domelen, is purchased by the Galveston Historical Foundation.

Bogan Gallery was pleased to facilitate the sale of "Eye of the Storm" by John Van Domelen to the Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF). Susan Bogan, owner of Bogan Gallery, is a member of the Galveston Historical Foundation, and has participated in shows at the Customs House Building, the newly acquired permanent home of GHF located just a few blocks from Bogan Gallery. John Van Domelen has regular one man shows at the gallery, and it was during his 2010 show that local admirers of "Eye of the Storm" first suggested what a perfect fit it would make with the other historical displays at the GHF. Van Domelen had been searching for a venue that would not only showcase his work, but carry with it the significance of the piece, the first and largest he created after hurricane "Ike." After viewing the piece, GHF executive director, Dwayne Jones, agreeed that the piece would enhance the Custon House's existing exhibits, and came to Bogan Gallery personally to acquire the piece on behalf of GHF.

1/1/11 Bogan Gallery voted "Best Gallery in Galveston" ! In a recent Galveston.com poll Bogan Gallery on the Island was voted "Best Gallery" in Galveston for 2010. Thank you to all who voted and who have visited the gallery.
